Greetings! My name is
Kathi Rancourt, and I've been in the health field for nearly 28 years. I became
a certified nursing assistant in 1980, and worked in hospitals, nursing homes,
home health, and mental health facilities until 1999. In the meantime, I became
certified in Reiki energy in 1997, and obtained my professional license in
massage therapy in 2001. Recently, I graduated from Palm Beach State
College in Lake Worth, Florida, where I chose to attend nursing school. I've actually dreamed of being a nurse since I
was around 4 years old, and am proud that I have finally realized my life's
dream! 
In November 2007, I attended a comprehensive six-day training in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy with certification from The Wellness Institute, located in Issaquah, Washington. Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy is a life-changing process which is different than conventional hypnotism or conventional psychotherapy (talk therapy). It brings a Spiritual component into conventional hypnosis. This process goes to the very core of your Being, to your heart center, and assists you in changing and healing your Life dramatically! As with all aspects of personal inner growth and healing, it is an on-going and lifelong process. The process of becoming certified required me to facilitate 20 hypnotherapy sessions, under supervision, and on Feb. 5, 2009 I became a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.
I've been involved professionally in body work for twelve years, although as a lay person for practically my entire Life. I studied massage therapy in Waterville, Maine, at Fuller Circles School for Therapeutic Massage, under the instruction of Jeannie Fuller, LMT. I received 810 hours of instruction, in modalities such as neuromuscular therapy, Shiatsu, pregnancy and infant massage, Swedish relaxation, healing Roman stone, pre- and post-event sports massage, seated chair massage, and other modalities.
I believe in and strive to adhere to the philosophy of treating the whole person (holistic therapy): mind, body, and spirit. I incorporate Reiki, which is energy work, into every massage that I do, because I believe that energy work and manipulation of tissues go hand in hand.
I studied Reiki with Reiki Teacher Vickie Walsh, RM, LMT, owner of the Reiki Center in Augusta, Maine from January 1997 to June 2000 and forward. I am certified in the Usui System of Natural Healing.
I am currently licensed in two states to perform professional massage and body work:
Florida MA 43414 and Maine MT 1540.
I am also a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association, (AMTA), and the Florida Chapter of AMTA. I am a member of the National Nursing Student's Association (NSNA), and the Florida Nursing Student Association (FNSA), as well as the Florida Nurses Association (FNA) and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
