Greetings! My name is Linda and I've been in the medical and social work fields for 30 plus years. I received my nursing degree at City University in New York in 1976. I then went on for my Bachelor's degree in social work at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, and my Master's degree in social work at Barry University in Miami. I am also a Certified Heart-Centered Hypnotherapist, through The Wellness Institute in Washington state, where I have been continuing my spiritual and heart-centered hypnotherapy training for the last 2 years. I will then be an Advanced Heart-Centered Hypnotherapist. I have many years of experience in various modalities of therapeutic intervention. I have found over the years that using an integrated approach in my practice is versatile and quite effective. It also helps my clients, because every person is different, and combining various therapies with one person may not work well for another. Some of the modalities I use include psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral, and brief solution focused therapy, as well as several others. I enjoy working with dually diagnosed clients who have both psychiatric disorders, eating disorders and/or substance abuse illnesses. I specialize in the above, as well as in anxiety disorders, anger management, women's issues, trauma/abuse issues, and sexual identity issues. When indicated, I incorporate Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy with any of the above dis-eases. I incorporate a holistic view of my individual clients, seeing each as an individual and a whole person: with physical, mental, and spiritual needs. My job is to assist my clients in their personal, as well as their mental and spiritual growth, when indicated. When working with one individual, I find that many times it's important for me to meet with the people closest to that individual, like spouses, family members, and children. So, it isn't unusual for me to request at some point in therapy that a client bring his or her family members into the office for introductions. I have been involved in other aspects of psychiatric nursing and social work in Palm Beach County, and the following list is a few items I have worked on in the past or am currently doing:
I'm a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers, (NASW), a member of the American Red Cross, and a co-founding member of the Wall of Tolerance in Montgomery, Alabama. I am also a member of the Heart-Centered Therapies Association
I can be reached via email or by telephone or voicemail @ 561.351.0288 Namasté.
